Start your recipe with a brief text intro. Talk about what inspired you to make the dish or what occasion you were making it for. What are the flavours like, what is the best feature of the dish. Where did the recipe originate etc. Feel free to be funny or whatever. If your dish is selected as a feature dish this is likely what will go up on the front page and I'm sick of having to make up things :)

Ingredients

Here we list all the ingredients (The * at the start of the lines makes it a list) many people often put an image of the ingredients here as well.

Variations (Optional)

  • some recipes deserve variations posted... like a vegetarian option, or substitue 1/2 cup of X for ingredient Y if you can't get it in your area etc...

  • note text below is meant for those looking at the code

Lastly, for anyone to actually find your recipe you need to categorize it, the best way to figure out the categories is to browse the wiki a bit but going here http://goonswithspoons.com/Special:Categories will give you a full list. Note that almost all ingredients are listed in the singular (such as Carrot, but there are exceptions: Eggs being an example.) These will automatically link your recipe into the list of all recipes of that type. - (add more as needed)

(optional but I prefer the look this generates)
