Bean Sprout Salad Banchan

Banchan are little side dishes that are served before the main meal in Korea. The one I’ll be making today is bean sprout salad.

Assemble your ingredients:

  • Mirin
  • soy sauce
  • rice wine vinegar
  • sesame oil
  • bean sprouts
  • carrots.


Method

Julienne the carrot and rinse the bean sprouts. Toss the carrots in the pan with a bit of water and let soften over medium heat. When the carrots are tender, add the sprouts and turn off the heat. Let sit for a minute or so, just to cook the green flavor out of the sprouts.

Mix with the sauce you prepared and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Eat at room temperature.
