Make sure you have your bbq ready for the brats when they're done. I don't know what type of grill you have so I can't tell you how long it will take. Get your buns ready too by adding a bit of butter (to brown them on the grill). I highly recommend the Weber gas/charcoal grill. The gas gets the charcoal hot really fast, and then you get to grill without the taste of propane and propane accessories, woo!

I fucking love bbq, and this is something I make all the time. Better than your run of the mill bratwursts since they aren't burned on the outside and soft in the middle. The taste is a combination of meat, onions, garlic, mustard and beer, and that's just the brat! They're perfect for a summer or spring night, and go well with just about anything. Hope you enjoy! Dessert located here

Ingredients[edit]

  • 4 beers, I prefer lighter beers for this so it doesn't overpower the rest of the flavors (non-beer goons, try this recipe anyways, it's damn good even if you don't like the flavor of beer like my girlfriend)
  • 2 5-packs of bratwursts (not the ones that come pre-flavored)
  • 2 sweet onions (if you don't have any sweet onions, yellow ones will do fine but you might want to add a dash more brown *sugar to prevent everything from becoming too bitter)
  • 1 small jar of Dijon mustard (you use as much as you want)
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1-2 tablespoons fresh garlic
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 10 buns

Optional:

  • Drinks
  • Chips
  • Watermellon

Method[edit]

Start out with a big empty pot, everything except the buns, chips and drinks will be in this container, so it better be somewhat big. You can halve the recipe if you want to save space.
